The Night America Chose Its 45th President

On November 8, 2016, Americans went to the polls to choose between Republican nominee Donald Trump and Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. The result became one of the most closely examined presidential elections in modern American history.

Trump carried key battleground states, including Florida, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin. His victories in several industrial states helped secure the Electoral College majority needed to win the presidency.

Clinton won the national popular vote, while Trump won the Electoral College. In the final official count, Trump received 304 electoral votes, Clinton received 227, and seven electors cast votes for other individuals.

In the early hours of November 9, Trump addressed supporters at the New York Hilton Midtown, following Clinton's concession by telephone. He would be inaugurated on January 20, 2017.

The election prompted extensive discussion about polling, campaign strategy, economic concerns, political polarization, and changes in the American electorate.

R007 transforms the symbolism of election night into three fictional collectible fragments: victory confetti, campaign stage drape, and red tie fabric.

CREATING THE IMPOSSIBLE

Imagined Relic 01 · Victory Confetti

A small collection of red, white, and blue paper fragments, representing the election-night celebration in New York City.

This imagined confetti symbolizes the moment the campaign celebrated victory. It was not recovered from the actual election-night event.

A small, frayed navy-blue fabric swatch inspired by the stage setting used for Trump's election-night speech.

This fictional fabric is an artistic representation, not material removed from the actual stage or campaign event.

Imagined Relic 03 · Trump's Tie Fabric

A tiny, torn red fabric fragment inspired by the tie Trump wore during his election-night appearance.

The fragment is symbolic only. It is not authentic fabric from Trump's clothing or any genuine historical garment.

Creating the Impossible

Together, the confetti, stage drape, and tie fabric evoke the celebration, setting, and central figure of election night.

All three relics are fictional artistic creations rather than recovered or authenticated objects.
